A data-balance code and a balance-check code are not the same thing. The balance check shows money left on the SIM; the data check shows megabytes or gigabytes left in the active pack. If your internet stops but the balance still looks healthy, check the data balance before topping up.

Why a USSD Code Sometimes Fails
- No network signal: USSD needs the mobile network, not Wi-Fi. If you are on Wi-Fi only with no SIM signal, the dial fails.
- You are on a mobile hotspot, an embedded SIM or a router SIM: USSD replies are short messages tied to the phone line and are often swallowed by data-only SIMs and MiFi devices.
- The operator changed the code: menus are revised, and older codes printed on scratch cards or shared online stop working.
- You are roaming: USSD menus differ outside Bangladesh and may be blocked entirely.
- Prepaid versus postpaid: postpaid lines usually ignore prepaid pack menus, so the same code can return an error on a postpaid connection
