How The Top 50 Is Chosen

The Top 50 is an editorial shortlist for BDIX access, not a rating of service quality, support or price. Members are placed and ordered by hand by the editorial team, and no payment buys a place in the list or moves a member up it.

Two paid add-ons sit alongside the ranking and are always labelled: a Top-50 Featured lane inside the table above, and Featured directory listings. Neither changes a rank, a package, a server count or any other fact on the page. Our paid-placement policy explains how that is enforced.

The shortlist leans on the exchange rather than on price: members are chosen for the BDIX servers they host and the footprint that makes those servers worth reaching. The Rank, Packages and BDIX servers columns show a live count for every member, so the editorial order and the underlying data sit side by side.

The full criteria and how conflicts of interest are handled are documented on how we rank the Top 50, and the same shortlist is published as a readable guide at Top 50 ISPs in Bangladesh.

BDIX Servers In The Top 50

Of the 50 listings on this tab, 41 host at least one of the 403 BDIX servers we catalogue. They are drawn from the 202 directory ISPs that reach the exchange at all, which is why hosting carries weight in the scoring.

The BDIX servers column above keeps the live count beside each rank, so an editorial placing never hides an empty server list.

Server hosting is a live figure even though the order is editorial: open any profile to see its nodes, its IPs and which servers are reachable from its network, then read how the shortlist is scored on how we rank the Top 50.

Frequently Asked Questions About The Top 50 ISPs

What is the Top 50 ISP ranking?
The Top 50 is our editorial shortlist of the operators that matter most for BDIX access in Bangladesh. It is a curated list with an order, not an official BTRC ranking, and it does not rate service quality, support or prices.
How are the Top 50 ISPs chosen?
Members are placed and ordered by hand by the editorial team, weighing the BDIX servers an operator hosts, its coverage and its national presence. The criteria and scoring are documented on how we rank the Top 50.
Can an ISP pay to be in the Top 50?
No. A place in the shortlist cannot be bought and no payment moves a member up it. Paid placements exist only as clearly labelled Top-50 Featured and Featured listings alongside the ranking. See the paid-placement policy.
Does a higher rank mean better service?
Not necessarily. The order reflects BDIX relevance - the servers an operator hosts, its coverage and its national footprint - rather than speed, price or support quality. Use the rank to shortlist, then compare the published packages and coverage on each profile.
How often is the Top 50 updated?
The editorial order is reviewed by the team, and the live figures beside it (packages and BDIX servers) update from the directory as data is verified, which happens weekly.
What does “Top-50 Featured” mean?
It is a paid lane inside the Top-50 table, always labelled, that highlights an operator without changing its rank. The rules are in our paid-placement policy, linked from every featured label.
