How We Rank the Top 50 ISPs

The Top 50 ISPs strip on the ISP directory is an editorial shortlist: our own judgement about the internet operators that matter most for BDIX access in Bangladesh, ranked 1–50. The rank is our editorial position, not an official BTRC rating and not a measure of a network's technical performance.

Who Gets In

Membership starts from three selection inputs:

• Operators behind the top BDIX servers. The most common question on this site is "which ISP hosts this server?": ICC FTP, Circle FTP, Link3, AmberIT and the rest. The operators hosting the flagship BDIX servers are the core of the list, one per flagship server.
• Mobile and satellite operators. Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink, Teletalk and Starlink answer the plain "what internet can I get?" question for users who are not on a fiber ISP.
• National backbone members. The largest BDIX peers with nationwide brand recognition: BRACNet, ADN Telecom, BDCOM Online and Agni Systems: because BDIX access flows through their networks.

These three inputs are locked in as the editorial "lanes" of the list: mobile/satellite operators and national backbones are deliberately kept in the ranking even though they would score low on BDIX-server signals alone.

The Cap at 50 Is a Design Decision

Fifty is a cap, not a threshold. The strip is meant to be scannable: every member on it is one users should recognise. That means adding an ISP to the Top 50 consciously replaces another, and every review is an editorial decision about who the strip should represent.

What We Score When We Review

At each review we score the full registry against six signals (max 100):

• Search demand (35): how often users search for the brand or its servers, from our Search Console data.
• Flagship BDIX server hosting (25): hosts one of the top BDIX servers, weighted by the server's own rank.
• BDIX / ISPA membership (15): verified membership in the national exchange or the ISP association.
• Owner claim (10): the operator verified the listing through our claim form.
• Published packages (10): active, published internet plans with prices.
• Published page (5): a live profile with real editorial content.

There are also hard gates that are never scored away: the operator must be a real licensed ISP with verifiable presence (a website, published packages or verified membership): a BDIX server brand is not an ISP and cannot be listed as one.

Editorial Independence

Rank reflects our editorial judgement. Operators cannot buy a position in the Top 50, and payment never changes the ranking. Paid placement exists separately: the Featured listings on the directory are paid, time-boxed and always disclosed on the page, and they never change factual data. How Often the List Changes

We review the shortlist quarterly against the scorecard: new server hosts, verified membership changes, claims and published packages can all move the ranking. Every change is a deliberate editorial swap: the strip stays honest, current and traceable.
